Community & cultural impact
Elken Foundation, established 2007.
The Elken Foundation was set up to give back to society through charitable work, including blood donation drives, fundraising for schools, and donation drives for cervical cancer and breast cancer. Its purpose is to help alleviate poverty and hardship, and to build self-reliance among disadvantaged and underprivileged communities through education and training.
Established in 2007, the Elken Foundation is the charitable arm of Elken, dedicated to uplifting communities and embodying the company’s promise to give back to society.
Over the years it has initiated and supported blood donation drives, school fundraising campaigns, and donation drives for cervical and breast cancer.
Its focus is on empowering the disadvantaged and underprivileged through education, training and sustainable development that inspires self-reliance.
Elken established the Oriental Art and Cultural Association in 2010 to open up art and culture through education and cultural events, on the belief that talented artists often lack the environment and opportunity to develop.
Its Seed Project, launched in 2013, brings art education to children in rural areas, and has reached ten primary schools across Malaysia, Thailand and China.
Blood donation
A Malaysian national record, three years running.
Elken has run large-scale blood donation drives since the early 2000s. In 2003 the campaign was entered into the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest volume of blood collected by a single organisation in the country, with more than 1,000 bags donated in one day.
The record was broken again in 2004 and 2005.
Disaster aid
Turning up when it matters.
Elken has run collection drives for food and necessities during flooding, rallying its distributor base to donate and to sponsor supplies alongside them.
The same principle runs through the Nigerian business: leave the people in it better than you found them.
Build something that gives back
Elken Nigeria is built on the same brand promise the Foundation was: Builds You To Build Others.
